| Question 6288: Assalar Muaalycum
In the city where I live, there were few muslim burial grounds where
muslim community used to bury their death. As the time goes-by the
city population grows gradually until a few years back, the officials
declared the city as metropolitan - city. Since than, all the burial
grounds regardless of race or religion had to shift to the out-skirt
of the city - circle.
The city - municipality granted the muslim community a plot of land
together with the other race and religions. From thereon the muslim -
groups formed a committee to build and manage the new burial ground of
more than 30 acres. The committee with the help of the donors built
the necessary buildings such as prayer hall, offices, waiting halls
including walling of the compound and paving roads and small lanes to
approach and bury the love-ones. The committee allows to bury the
death in Serial number, regardless of rich or poor.
Since the place allotted to us was raw land, the committee faces a
lot of difficulties at the beginning. The committee had to leave
behind some parts of burial lands untouched.
At present the burial ground is nearly two third full and the family
of the deceased have to walk along way to bury their love-ones. The
committee wish to utilize the land (Which was left behind and now
situated near the main entrance for burying purpose on condition that
who may ever agreed to donate generously to the cemetary, will be
allowed to bury their love ones there. They have to pay regular burial
fees plus donation fixed by the management.
Or else, they have the choice to bury according to serial number
alotted to them. The committee will utilize the money to pave the
lanes which were left unfinished at the beginning years.
The question
1. Is the committee can ask for donation for paving the lanes in favor
of allowing the donor to bury the deceace on the burial plot which is
at present situated near the main entrance?
2. If not so, pleace guide us regarding this matter. (With attach file in urdu)
